6/14/07 LRM Foundation Awards
5 Students Scholarship Awards At WRVTS-
on Wednesday June 13th The Linda R. Martin Foundation awarded 5
students from Windham Regional Vocational Technical High School
with five different scholarship awards.
As a part of the newly formed Windham
RVTS Educational Assistance Program, which was announced by the
Linda R. Martin Foundation at the First Annual Silent Auction Dinner,
(for more imformation please see below) five studetns were selected
by a scholarship committee made-up of Windham Tech staff, faculty,
and independent persons. Each recipient was selected for there achivements
and future education intentions. This years program awards and recipients
are featured below and we congradulate them all. The LRM Foundation
wishes all graduating seniors the best of luck and that all of you
aspire to your fullest potiental, and success be yours. If you would

The LRM Foundation Award: this
is a $250 dollar scholarship award presented to a graduating senior
who is attending a 4 year college or university. The award is presented
on the basis of school involvement, leadership, and academic rigor.
Recipient: Megdaliz Galarza of Willimantic
The William C. LaBelle Award: this is a $250 dollar
scholarship award presented to a graduating senior from the electrical
shop. This award is made in the name of William C. LaBelle who was
a graduate of Windham RVTS who tragically passed away after a valiant
battle with cancer. The William C. LaBelle award on the basis of
shop involvement, future education, and advisor recommendations.
Recipient: Matt Burdick of Chaplin
The Academic Leader Award: this is a $250 scholarship
award presented to a graduating senior that has placed within the
top 5% of their graduating class. Other qualifications include leadership
involvement, staff recommendations, and future education intentions.
Recipient: Katie Desautels of Windham
The Robuchon Award: this is a $250 scholarship award
presented to a graduating senior from the Culinary Arts trade who
is continuing there education in the trade. Recipient: Robert
Pratt of Lebanon
Outstanding Trade Award: this is a $250 scholarship
award presented to a graduating senior who displays outstanding
trade ability and holds the highest trade related GPA. Recipient:
Stephen Pacheco of Willington

5/18/07 Silent Auction Success
- The Linda R. Martin Foundation held its first annual Silent Auction
Dinner at Windham Technical High School this past friday evening.
Met with a resounding enthusiasm the Auction, which will benifit
the Windham RVTS Education Assistance Program, (to
learn more about the program click here), raised over $7,800!
These proceeds will assist in growing our Educational
Assistance program and offering more scholarship awards to more
students. The Linda R. Martin Foundation would like to thank the
Windham Tech High School Culinary department for all of there hard
work and support thoguht the entire planning process and event.
We also would like to thank the Superintendent Dr. Abigail Huges
and Assistant Superintendent Ms. Judith Thompson for there attendence
and generous donations. We also thank all of our donors for there
support and generous donations. Without the assistance of our donors
our work would be non-existant.
We, we the Linda R. Martin Foundation are looking
forward to next years event and so should you! The planning process
has already begun. Please be on the lookout for this years Windham
RVTS Education assistance Program recipients, which will soon be
announced. thank you again to all of our supporters and doners that
made this event such a success.
