9/8/07 LRM Foundation Holds 2nd Annual Michael Benoit Cancer Walk Through Coventry: The Linda R. Martin Foundation would like to thank all of the volunteers, walkers and our sponsors that assisted in making this years Michael Benoit Cancer Walk Through Coventry a success. The Michael Benoit Cancer Walk Through Coventry had over 200 walkers this year and was able to raise a little over $5,000 for cancer research! Proceeds from this years walk went to the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center at Hartford Hospital.

in addition to raising money for cancer research this years walk also aimed to raise awareness of cancer in all its types. With multiple tents at this years walk precipitants were able to learn more about cancer, its effects on families, individuals and society as a whole. Additionally participants were able to learn more about the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer and how they have become one of the regions leading providers of cancer care.

As the same as last year the MBC Walk Through Coventry was held at Patriots Park located in Coventry CT on September. With a day full of sun, warmth, parcipitants walked the lovely 4.5 mile walk through the town of Coventry and ended back at Patriots park for a picnic, music and fair-like atmosphere. We again thank all of those whom helped with the planning including the Corcoran and Benoit families. The planning for next years walk is going to be starting soon and your help will be needed. If interested in volunteering for steering committee contact our executive director Kevin Martin under our "contact us" section. Thank you again, we are but one step closer to finding a cure!!
